What is the difference between CNC press brake and electro-hydraulic press brake?


The CNC press brake uses a torsion axis to link the left and right swing rods to form a torsion axis, forcing a synchronization mechanism to move up and down the cylinders on both sides. It is a mechanical forced synchronization method. The parallelism of the slider cannot be automatically checked and adjusted.

The electro-hydraulic press brake installs a magnetic scale on the slider and the wall plate. The numerical control system can analyze the synchronization of the two sides of the slide through the information feedback from the magnetic scale at any time. If something wrong, the numerical control system will be adjusted by a proportional electro-hydraulic servo valve to synchronize the strokes on both sides of the slider. They constitute the feedback closed-loop control of the electro-hydraulic press brake.

The parallelism of the slide block determines the angle of the workpiece. The CNC press brake keeps the slide block synchronized by the machine. There is no real-time error feedback. However, its eccentric load capacity is poor.

The electro-hydraulic press brake is the system through the proportional electro-hydraulic valve group to control the slider synchronization. The magnetic scale reports real-time error.

The CNC press brake does not have a control system and V-axis compensation. You can only stake out and do trial bending first.

The electro-hydraulic press brake is controlled by a professional numerical control system with V-axis compensation. There is a simulated bending function that no stakeout is required.


How to choose a suitable CNC press brake?


When purchasing CNC press brake, consider the production of parts. It must be able to complete the processing tasks. The workbench must be the shortest and the tonnage can be the smallest. The material grade and the maximum processing thickness and length should be paid attention to.

The shorter workbench, the fewer shim adjustments to produce qualified parts. Reduced shim adjustment shortens preparation time.

When free bending is used in CNC press brake, the bending radius is 0.156 times the opening distance of the die. The opening distance of the die should be 8 times the thickness of the metal material. If the bending radius of CNC press brake is almost as small as the material thickness, a bottomed die must be formed.

In order to choose the lowest tonnage specification, it is best to plan for a bending radius larger than the thickness of the material, using the free bending method.

The accuracy is the most important factor affecting your choice. It determines whether you need to consider a CNC or a manual press brake. If the bending accuracy requires within 1° and cannot be changed, you must focus on the CNC press brake.


How to improve the lifespan of CNC press brake?


Create a uniformly distributed machining allowance for each type of bending in each bending process. The main CNC press brake mold should be as close as possible to the final shape of the mold in each process.

The evenly distributed machining allowance of the CNC press brake mold ensures a constant and high productivity and a safe bending process. When the angle is constant, the bending speed and feed rate can also be kept constant at a high level.

Continuous cutting of CNC press brake should be maintained for as long as possible during the bending process. Otherwise, it will increase the thermal stress and thermal fatigue on the cutting edge. A uniform and high temperature in the cutting area is more beneficial.
